About Our Girls’ Section
Brecon FC Juniors is proud to have a growing girls’ section that provides a welcoming, positive and supportive environment for girls to enjoy football, build confidence and develop their skills.
We aim to lead the way for girls’ football within our area by placing the needs and development of female players at the forefront of everything our girls’ section does. We want girls to have meaningful opportunities to train, play and progress in an environment created specifically for them.
Our section has fantastic links across girls’ and women’s football in Wales, including connections with senior clubs, county football, the South Powys Junior Football League and school football. These relationships help us provide further opportunities and clearer pathways for our players as they progress through the game.
We also believe that the growth of girls’ football depends on clubs working together. We actively support and collaborate with other local clubs to increase participation, develop more girls’ teams and help build towards a strong and sustainable girls’ league within the South Powys area.
Together, our coaches are committed to helping every player develop at her own pace within an enjoyable, inclusive and player-centred environment.
Girls of all abilities and levels of experience are welcome. Whether a player is trying football for the first time or looking to take the next step in her development, we want every girl to feel valued, supported and proud to represent Brecon FC Juniors.
Our experienced coaching team includes:
Billy Brown – Billy has worked as Head Goalkeeping Coach for Aberystwyth Town Women for the past three seasons. He is also the Girls’ Development Officer for the South Powys Junior Football League and currently coaches and manages the South Powys Girls’ County Team.
Meg Ryan – Meg currently plays for Talgarth Town Ladies and previously played for Aberystwyth Town Women. She is also the Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the South Powys Junior Football League and is passionate about making football welcoming and accessible to everyone.
David Otton – David brings extensive playing experience, having represented clubs across South Wales over many years. His knowledge of the game and experience within local football are a valuable part of our coaching team.
